Conservation Area Appraisals

The purpose of a Conservation Area Appraisal is to define what is important about the character and appearance of a conservation area and to identify its special characteristics.
Appraisals also identify issues which are detrimental to the conservation area which helps to inform the planning process.
The average life span for an appraisal is 10 years after which they should be reviewed.
The council has a rolling programme to update the appraisals when necessary.

During the public consultation period, residents, the public, and businesses are welcome to send us their comments on the draft document.

Consultation Events
We will be holding a drop-in event on Tuesday 13 May in Room B at Preston Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL between 4pm - 6.30pm.
Copies of the documentation will be available for you to view at this event, along with the opportunity to ask officers any questions regarding the appraisal.
