Pay your annual licence fee
How and when to pay your annual premises licence fee
To keep your licence valid, you will need to pay an annual fee once a year, on the anniversary date of when your premises licence was granted.
You can find the anniversary date on the decision notice that will be sent with your premises licence.
A reminder letter will be sent out to you one month before the due date detailing how to make payment.
How to pay
You will need:
- a debit or credit card
- your invoice number
Payment can also be made through the licensing office on 01772 906911, using a debit or credit card.
How much is the Premises Licence fee?
The amount you pay is based on the rateable value of the premises.
Premises that don't have a rateable value are in Band A for premises licences purposes.
The rateable value is set by the valuation office. The Non Domestic Rateable Value (NDRV) of any premises can be checked at GOV.UK - Valuation Office Agency (VOA).
There is a multiplier applied to premises in Bands D ( x 2 basic fee) and E ( x 3 basic fee) where they are exclusively or primarily in the business of supplying alcohol.
Please note: All fees are set by the government and cannot be altered by us.
|Non-domestic rateable value band||BAND||Annual fee||Multiplier|
|£0 - £4,300||A||£70||0|
|£4,301 - £33,000||B||£180||0|
|£33,001 - £87,000||C||£295||0|
|£87,001 - £125,000||D||£320||£640|
|£125,001 and over||E||£350||£1050|
What happens if the fee isn't paid on time
If you don't pay your annual fee on time we'll suspend your premises licence.
This means you'll no longer be able to lawfully carry out licensable activities at the premises until you pay the fee and we lift the suspension.
