Housing associations are non - profit organisations that let homes to people in housing need. Rents are generally cheaper than privately rented accommodation and the tenancy agreement usually provides better security of tenure than private lets.
Select Move is a partnership lettings service, which helps people find a housing association home as quickly and easily as possible. Most housing associations in Preston are part of Select Move. Landlords who are part of the service include:

Housing associations are required to offer a proportion of their properties to the council for individuals in extreme housing need such as those at risk of becoming homeless. The council will nominate individuals for housing based on a thorough assessment to determine those who are in greatest housing need.
There are a number of local housing associations that are not part of Select Move.
