For Phase 1 of the park restoration masterplan, a £2.35million scheme was developed and submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for approval.
In June 2014, the HLF panel approved our Phase 1 application and awarded the Council with a Stage 2 pass. This resulted in a grant offer from HLF of £1,725,000.
The approved scheme estimate of £2.35 million included additional external match funding and the Council’s own contributions totalling £0.625m above the £1.725m secured from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The £0.625m included external funding of £90,000 plus additional works in kind of £35,000.
What did the phase 1 scheme consisted of?
The Phase 1 scheme will be fully complete by late summer 2018.
The masterplan for the park will not be finished until we can carry out a subsequent Phase 2 refurbishment project. This project will concentrate on upgrading the Serpentine Lake Area and also provide improved play facilities within the park.
