Whether you are living in halls of residence or private accommodation during your time at university, you need to be aware of the refuse and recycling services that you can use.
If you are living in private accommodation, you have access to a comprehensive recycling scheme where you can recycle up to 65% of all your waste.
You should have a grey wheeled bin for all your non-recyclable waste. If you are recycling all that you can and are still struggling to reduce your waste to an amount suitable to cope with fortnightly collections, then your landlord should arrange for the payment for additional waste containers or collections.
For further information visit our bins page.
Many halls of residence now have their own recycling services. Contact your management company for more details of your scheme.
If your site does not yet have recycling we may be able to help. Contact our recycling team for more information (details at the bottom of the page).
