The next scheduled elections to take place in Preston are City Council and Parish elections on Thursday 2 May 2019.

Following a boundary review, sixteen new wards have been created. You can read about the review here. Three councillors will be elected to each of these wards.

The election process starts on Monday 18 March 2019 when a Notice of Election will be published.
Nomination papers to stand as a candidate can be submitted from this date - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm but no later than 4pm on Wednesday 3 April 2019.

You can collect printed copies of the nomination packs from Electoral Services, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL. Please ask at the reception desk.
To return your completed nomination pack, please call 01772 906482 or 01772 906123 to book an appointment.
An appointments system will be in operation for candidates and/or their agents to submit nomination papers when an informal inspection of them will be undertaken before they are formally submitted.
The use of informal checks may reveal any errors in time for them to be sorted.

A list of candidates standing in each ward will be published on Thursday 4 April 2019.
A meeting for all candidates and their agents for the City Council elections will take place on Tuesday 9 April 2019 at 6.00pm in Room A of the Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL.
