Purpose: Giving a voice to Small, Medium sized Enterprise's (SME's) in Preston and Lancashire to allow public institutions to better understand the way in which suppliers operate regarding new business opportunities.

Objective: To understand how public institutions in Preston and Lancashire can enable greater and wider involvement from SMEs in public procurement opportunities.

The survey has been designed by 5 public institutions anchored in Preston:

  • The University of Central Lancashire
  • Preston City Council
  • Community Gateway Association
  • Lancashire Constabulary
  • Preston's College

In collaboration with the North West Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses.

What is the point of the survey?

The survey is developed as part of the work of these institutions in the project Making Spend Matter which seeks to improve public procurement processes, increase supplier engagement and to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to bid for tenders.

The institutions involved share the common objective of wanting to deliver more for their place and communities through public procurement.

The dissemination period

The dissemination period for the survey will run from the 16 September 2019 and close on the 16 October 2019.

We will monitor the number of answers collected during the month in case it is necessary to extend the closing date to the end of October.
