Adapting the homes of people with disabilities to make them safe and accessible is a statutory function of the Council.
The post-holder will be required to assist the Team Leader in a range of duties, but primarily relating to the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants. This involves visiting properties, surveying and identifying required adaptations, drawing up plans and technical specifications as necessary. A good technical knowledge of buildings and construction is therefore essential.
The post-holder will also need to be an excellent communicator, in order to liaise with clients, who are often vulnerable and older people, their families, occupational therapists and contractors as necessary. Therefore, the ability to deliver a service with high standards of customer care is essential.
The post holder also needs to be a good team player, but also able to plan, prioritise and organise their own workloads to deliver in accordance with statutory requirements and grants procedures.
For further information or an informal discussion about the post, please contact Paul Walmsley, Grants Team Leader on 01772 906562 or email@example.com.
