We are hosting free, asymptomatic covid-19 testing at the Guild Hall for essential workers, who cannot work from home and are not being tested through their workplace.
For example, this can include:
Taking these lateral flow, rapid tests at regular intervals provides reassurance to employers, employees, and their customers that businesses and organisations are taking all necessary actions to keep everyone safe.
No booking is necessary, but please bring any relevant work ID.
Enter the Guild Hall via the front entrance on Lancaster Road and follow the signs to the test site, our team will guide you through the process.
The testing site is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am - 4.30pm.
The opening hours are subject to change so please check before you attend.
Regular testing is really important, so you are encouraged to attend every 3 - 5 days.
According to Government as many as 1 in 3 individuals with coronavirus may not display any symptoms. With some essential businesses still open this can create workplace outbreaks and put people at risk.
By getting regular rapid tests new cases can be quickly identified and isolated. These quick and easy tests will also help members of the public feel confident to continue visiting essential businesses such as shops.
Please note: Following the discovery of the E484K variant in Preston, people with symptoms of a common cold or headache (as well as the traditional symptoms of COVID-19) may be infected.
If you are feeling unwell or are in doubt, please get tested immediately by calling NHS 119 or booking via the government's website and selecting the option 'the council have asked you to get a test'.
Please note: you must wear a face covering and at busier times there may be a queue. Do not attend the Harris if you are experiencing symptoms - please register via GOV.UK - get a free NHS test to be tested immediately.
