The National Food Hygiene Ratings Scheme is run in partnership with the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The scheme allows you to find our most recent inspection results of food businesses in Preston. Each business is given a rating from 0 – 5 with five being the highest level.
Please note: all food businesses should display their Food Hygiene Rating stickers and certificates in a prominent place such as front doors and windows.

If you are the owner of the food business and don’t agree with your rating, you can do the following actions:
Before you appeal a rating, it is a good idea to speak to the food safety officer that carried out the inspection to find out how your rating was worked out and whether you still want to appeal.
If you still don’t agree with the rating, you have a right to appeal.

This must be completed within 21 days of receiving the inspection report.
Please note: any discussions you have do not change the deadline within which the appeal must be made.
You have the right to reply to a food hygiene rating given following an inspection.

Your reply will be reviewed by the Food Safety Officer and may be edited in order to remove offensive comments before being published online with your food hygiene rating at Food Standards Agency – Food Hygiene Ratings.
This will include a statement that will highlight that the accuracy of your comments has not been verified by local authority officers.
