Preston's new Market Hall opened mid February. Located under the grand Victorian canopy, the glass walled building allows light in at all angles, providing a bright and airy area.
The open ceiling also provides fantastic views of the restored canopy roof and gives a real sense of height. The modern building and stalls, joined with the history and traditions of the market, provides traders with a unique and enjoyable place to trade.
The markets sell a wide choice of fresh, local and quality produce. These traders include classic butchers, fishmongers, dairy traders and fruit and veg traders. There's also cafés, non-food items and hot food to eat in and take away.
Complementing the new market hall is the innovative Box Market. Making up the Box Market are a number of upgraded shipping containers under part of the historic Fish Market canopy.
With inspiration taken from well-known markets in the London area, these containers provide contemporary trading spaces. The contrast of these spaces and the Georgian canopy add another dimension to the market as a whole.
The ability to customise the Box Market provides an exciting place to trade and offers an unusual shopping location unlike anywhere else in the north west.
We have a limited number of stalls available in the Market Hall and Box Market. For more details visit New Preston Market Trader Opportunities.
