Gymnastics

Gymnastic classes are delivered at West View Climbing and Leisure Centre.

Gym Babies 0 - 2 years (adult and child class)

These classes are designed to enhance the relationship between adult and baby, allowing them uninterrupted play, away from daily pressures.

The structured sessions start with a warm up and group activity, then using large apparatus, the skills of balancing, rolling, climbing and rebound are explored, finishing with a quiet warm down. These activities can all be repeated and practiced at home.

Gym babies

Pre - School Gym Tots 2-3 years (adult and child class)

This programme is devoted to basic gymnastic activity. The fundamentals of movement are explored through balance activities including the challenge of walking along our balance beams and jumping on and off the trampettes.

The activity is led by our qualified pre-school coaches and parents take part in all activities with their children and work through the FUNdaments badges and certificates.

Gym Tots Plus+

General Gymnastics (Stages 1 and 2)

Fun and developmental gymnastics for beginners to intermediates. Gymnasts work on the basics of all disciplines and work towards the popular British Gymnastics Award scheme.

Once Gymnasts complete stage 2 they will progress to the City of Preston Gymnastics Club.

Classes are ran as a 12 week course and there are limited numbers available.  If a class you enquire about is currently full please add your child's name to the waiting list.  Each term there will be gymnasts that progress on to the stage 3 programme which then creates spaces and you will be contacted when a place becomes available.

Gymnastics Holiday Camps

Preston City Council and City of Preston gymnastics club offer gymnastics training camps in the school holidays.

Children work on many pieces of apparatus with our qualified coaches and will also have the opportunity to work towards additional proficiency awards badges and certificates and the star awards in performance. All coaches are suitably qualified and hold enhanced CRB disclosures.  The holiday camps are ran at West View Climbing and Leisure Centre for beginners and City of Preston Gymnastics Centre for none beginners.

Advanced Gymnastics Lessons (Stages 3+)

The advanced sessions are ran at the City of Preston Gymnastics Centre. This new 20,000 square feet dedicated gymnastics facility is ran by the City of Preston Gymnastics Club and is club mark accredited.
