Streetwise Sports Club is a multi sports and activity club for young people aged 8 - 14 years. It runs every Thursday (excluding Easter and Christmas holidays) from 4.00pm to 6.00pm at West View Climbing and Leisure Centre and costs £1.50.
Each week young people can take part in the following regular activities:
All the areas are staffed by fully qualified coaches and there are opportunities to progress into clubs within the centre.
If you would like your child to come along to Streetwise Sports Club you will need to ensure that a junior parental consent form is completed and given in at reception when making payment for the club.
The junior consent form can be found in the documents section of this page. Alternatively, you can collect a form by coming along to the club with your child on his/her first session.
Please see below for our programme of activities. Those who wish to swim may go straight to the pool and those who wish to take part in other activities must meet in the sports hall to be escorted to their chosen activity.
We expect children to behave as they would do at school and treat the coaches and other participants with respect and encourage fair play and sportsmanship throughout the activities.
Bad language and any other unruly behaviour will not be tolerated and should any child misbehave, they will be issued with a yellow card and two yellow cards will result in a 3 week ban from Streetwise Sports Club.
Can I drop off my child and collect them when the club finishes?
Yes, providing you have completed a parental consent form and children are collected on time.
My child is almost 8 years old, can they still take part?
Unfortunately they would have to wait until they are 8 years old to register for the club.
What does my child need to wear?
There is no dress code, but sports clothing and trainers is preferred.
Does my child need any equipment?
All equipment will be provided for all activities, but don't forget your own swimming kit if you wish to go swimming!
My child has a medical issue, who should I tell?
The medical issue should be indicated on the parental consent form when registering. It would also be advisable to mention the medical issue to any of the sports coaches.
Is there somewhere safe for my child to put his/her things?
Lockers are available for either 20p or £1 in the wet change and dry change areas.
My child has lost their swipe card
A replacement card will be issued at a cost of £1.
My child has been issued with a red card, what does this mean?
If your child is issued with a red card, this means that they will not be able to attend the club for a further 3 weeks because their behaviour has been unacceptable.
