Please note the consultation period has now ended.
The three Central Lancashire authorities, Preston City Council and Chorley and South Ribble Borough Councils sought views on the content of a Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople Local Plan under Regulation 18 of the Local Plans Regulations 2012. This was an informal part of the plan making process to inform the content of the Plan.
The issues and options report explained the purpose of the plan and the current planning policy context for the provision of accommodation for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople. It also set out the evidence of need as contained in the Central Lancashire Gypsies and Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Accommodation Assessment (May 2015) (GTAA) and identifies the key issues that have to be addressed to meet this need.
The document contained a number of questions that the Councils were seeking comments on that will help to inform decisions on how the identified need for provision will be made and which sites will be proposed.
Please note that consultation on Preferred Options will begin in the Autumn. Please continue to check this page for further updates.
