Consultation starts on Monday 21 May on the Sites for Preston document.
The jointly prepared Central Lancashire Core Strategy was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on 31 March 2011.
A public examination started on 28 June 2011 to determine whether the Core Strategy Development Plan Document was sound.
On 12 July 2011, the Inspector announced that soundness had not been achieved in respect of the councils' housing policies, and further representation's from all interested parties were requested. In November and December 2011, in response to the Inspectors concerns, the councils consulted on a set of Housing Related Changes. A further hearing session was held in March 2012 to consider these. The Inspector is now preparing his report which is expected shortly.
Once adopted the local development framework replaces the local plan which was adopted on 26 April 2004.
