The new NHS Lifestyle Centre and café is based at the Minerva in the Invincibles Pavilion at Preston North End’s football ground in Deepdale, Preston.
This new centre offers the public a place to go for health advice.
One of the services uses cutting edge technology called TellyTalk. It offers a touch-screen customer service screen where people can speak to a Lancashire County Council advisor via a computer television link.
The Lifestyle Centre also offers a ‘signposting’ service to direct people to a variety of health and public information. The centre is working alongside health related organisations to provide clinical sessions such as the ME Society, Lupus Group, British Lung Foundation, Breatheasy,Help Direct and Diabetes UK.
These sessions will change on a weekly basis to accommodate all the different health services and organisations.
The new café at Minerva Health Centre will be run by the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) and will offer a variety of healthy snacks and refreshments every weekday.
For more information and a timetable of the week’s events contact the Minerva Health Centre on 01772 777606.
