The park is a gateway park as it is located on the eastern side of the city adjacent to New Hall Lane and Blackpool Road on the main route into Preston from the M6 Tickled Trout (Junction 31).
Off New Hall Lane
The park has two crown green bowling greens, multi-use games area (basketball, football, hockey and cricket), four football pitches (3 full size, 1 junior), football pavilion, children’s play area, NPFA (multi-ball games wall) and skate park. It also has a car park.
The park has its own community garden, created with the help of the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund initiative Growing Fitter for the Future and Lancashire Small Sites Reclamation programme. As a backdrop to this garden is a mural celebrating the sense of parks, growth and community, created by the children of Ribbleton Avenue Methodist Junior school with the Art in the Park project. The site is now managed by the Friends of Fishwick and St Matthews.
