Play areas

Play area Ribbleton Park

Children's playgrounds play a valuable role in outdoor recreation, providing children and young people with an area to relax, explore, meet friends and play. Play is an essential part of every child's life and is vital for their development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.

We manage over 50 play areas, catering for age groups ranging from 3 years to 14 years, with teenage equipment on several sites.

We provide a weekly inspection and repair service for the council’s play areas and we also carry out development work to improve the quality of our play areas.

We really appreciate your feedback on any problems within our play areas, please report a play area problem or contact us on 01772 906471 or parks@preston.gov.uk.
