If you are a Preston resident and wish to receive fortnightly garden waste (brown bin) collections, you need to subscribe to our garden waste collection service.
Subscriptions are valid for a 12 month period from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.
Your brown bin can be used for compostable garden waste such as:

Garden waste collections take place on your bin collection day. To search for your collection day see find my bin collection day.
The subscription charge is £35 per bin (£1.20 per collection).
This will cover garden waste collections made between 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.
If you subscribe part way through the year the full charge will still apply.
Please note: If you do not have a brown bin, you will need to request a new brown bin. This includes a delivery charge of £15 per bin. You can request as many brown bins as you need. However the £35 subscription charge will apply to each bin.
The garden waste annual renewal charge for 2018/19 is £35 for the emptying of one brown bin fortnightly.
You can apply or renew online by completing our garden waste collection (apply or renew) payment form.
Renewal reminder emails will be sent out in March 2018.
Once you have submitted your form, you will receive a unique bin sticker in the post within 10 working days. Please follow the instructions on the reverse of the sticker and ensure it is clearly displayed on your bin.
If your next collection takes place before your sticker has arrived please place your bin out for collection as normal and we will make every effort to carry out your collection.
Please note: subscriptions can take up to seven working days to process and you are not guaranteed a collection during this period. We will not return to empty any reported missed bins where subscriptions have been purchased within the last seven working days.
You have 14 working days from the date you subscribed to cancel your subscription.

Please note: cancellations cannot be accepted by phone.
If you choose not to subscribe, then you must either take your garden waste to a Recycling Centre or compost it at home. You should not dispose of garden waste in your general waste bin.
If you no longer require your brown bin you should contact us to arrange for its removal.
