A Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) for Central Lancashire, involving the three authorities of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. This will provide the necessary robustness and direction to inform decisions affecting the provision of outdoor sports facilities and playing pitches within the District.
* This commission will also provide an updated Indoor Sports Facility Strategy.
The primary purpose of the Playing Pitch Strategy is to provide a strategic framework which ensures that the provision of outdoor playing pitches meet local and community needs of existing and future residents and visitors to the Central Lancashire area.
The strategy will be produced in accordance with national planning guidance and provide robust and objective justification for future playing pitch provision throughout Central Lancashire.
The survey will examine the quality, distribution and role of open spaces in each of these three local authorities.
