The Preston Strategic Partnership (PSP) has developed eight Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) and a Cultural Forum. All the TWGs and Cultural Forum have representatives from the public sector and the voluntary and community sector and some have representatives from the private sector.

Each TWG and the Cultural Forum is delivering part of Preston's Sustainable Community strategy and delivering targets from the Lancashire Local Area Agreement relating to Preston.

The underlying principle of all TWGs is to work together, not just within the TWG but across all groups within the PSP, to deliver better services. Each group concentrates on areas where they can achieve added value through:

  • Developing ideas co-operatively
  • Meeting shared goals
  • Working to a set of shared principles.
  • All contribute to the Preston Strategic Partnership Vision which is for Preston to be the third City of the North West by 2012.

The TWGs each progress action in the following areas :-

The Children’s Trust (acting as a TWG)
