A thank you from the Mayor.

The Mayor of Preston, Councillor Keith Sedgewick, has issued a thank you on behalf of the people of Preston to the fire officers who travelled to Haiti to help with the recovery programme:

On behalf of all the partners of Preston City Council I would like to send my condolences to the people of Haiti during what continues to be an extremely difficult time.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the Lancashire Fire and Rescue service, for their sterling work during the relief efforts. Had it not been for their dedication, even more lives would have been lost.”

The mayor has also encouraged the people of Preston to donate whatever they can afford to the DEC’s Haiti earthquake appeal.
