Do it online and forms
Do it online
A key part of the site. This is where you can use the web to access council and other services. Here you'll find on-line payments and forms. These on-line forms are an easy way to provide or request information from the Council.
The Do it online section is divided in the four sections to help you find the form you are looking for. These are:
- Request it
- Report it
- Pay it
- Other tools
Forms
Our interactive forms service is an easy way to provide information to the Council or to request information from us.
To choose the form you need, please select Online services from the homepage, then forms are categorised into four sections by most popular or you can find a form via the search facility.
We are always trying to improve the range of forms available on the site, so if you can't find the form you need, please contact us on info@preston.gov.uk
Completing the Forms
Each form has a box or field requiring you to enter information.
Fields marked * must be completed. If there is no * shown, then you can decide whether or not to supply this information.
Use the Next button to move onto the next section of the form or the back button to take you back to the previous section.
The status bar at the bottom of the form tells you how much of the form you have completed.
When you complete the form, each section is checked to see if the information has been provided in the correct format.
The system will then either move you on to the next section of the form, or will take you back and ask you to complete the question providing the information in the right format
A green tick indicates that the information you supplied is okay. A red cross indicates that the information is not correct or is in the wrong format and needs to be re-submitted.
On all the forms there is a 'Help' section - please click on this at any time to help you in completing the form.
Sometimes we need a signature from you before we can process your form. In this case, when you have provided the information required, your form will be converted to an Adobe Acrobat file. You can then save, print and sign the form, returning it to us in the post, or leaving it at the Reception of one of our offices. (You will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader from www.adobe.com to be able to access this printable form.)
Where we don't need a signature from you, the form is electronically sent to us via the web. You will be given a record number - please keep this for future reference and quote it if you need to contact us about your form.
Once we receive the electronic form, we will start to process your request.
Saving a form
If you wish to save a form and finish it at another time you must complete the page you are entering and go to the next page.
Then, select the save button.
If you are registered on the website this form will be saved in your homepage. To complete the form you will need to log in, and from your homepage you can select the eforms tab which will list all partially completed and completed forms.
If you are not registered on the website you can save the form with your email address and a password. To complete the form you will need to go to the Do it online section and load a saved form from the Your previous forms section at the bottom of the page.
