Preston Crematorium was opened in February 1962. At present it serves Preston and the surrounding area by carrying out approximately 1600 cremations per year. Preston City Council is a member of the Federation of British Cremation Authorities and strictly adheres to the Code of Cremation Practice in its administration of Preston Crematorium. We recognise the importance of the service provided and guarantee all procedures are performed in accordance with statutory regulations.

This crematorium has been equipped with computer operated cremators that are able to comply with the strict limits on pollutants laid down by the 1990 Environmental Protection Act.
