The Gambling Commission was set up under the Gambling Act 2005 to regulate commercial gambling in Great Britain.
The Commission is responsible for issuing operating licences and personal licences and for enforcing the regulations surrounding the use of such licences. They also provide advice and guidance to local authorities and the Government on commercial gambling.
There are three types of licence required by the Gambling Act 2005:
If you wish to operate a gambling business in Preston, you must first apply for an operator licence and any relevant personal licences from the Gambling Commission.
You can then apply to us for a premises licence. We decide who will be given a licence based our Gambling Policy (see the documents sections).
