Fireworks

Different parts of explosives/firework law are enforced by various bodies:

  • The council enforce Health and Safety legislation during organised firework displays, at which a work activity is undertaken.
  • Lancashire County Council's, Trading Standards Department, Licence retailers who wish to sell Fireworks.
  • The Health and Safety Executive Licences businesses wishing to make explosives, such as Fireworks.
  • Lancashire Fire and Rescue, enforce Fire Safety in the workplace.
  • The Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (Formerly DTI) draw up legislation and guidance in relation to fireworks.
  • The Police enforce criminal offences connected to fireworks.
