
Managed by the University of Central Lancashire, this £12 million 60-acre site was opened by the Princess Royal in 2000.
Extending one mile from its Tom Benson Way entrance, the outdoor sports complex offers a vast array of facilities for student, school and community use. These include seven grass football pitches, three grass rugby pitches, an eight-lane international standard athletics track, an indoor training facility, six five-a-side all-weather pitches, two full-size all-weather football/ hockey pitches, four tennis/ netball courts, a cricket pitch, a 1.5km cycle circuit, a fitness suite and a range of fitness classes.

It also has the only floodlit Grass Master Desso football pitch that is available for public use in the country.
To get to Preston Sports Arena use J32 of the M6 and follow slip road A6 to Preston. Take immediate left turn signposted Preston Sports Arena (also Ingol, Cottam) the Arena is then signed all the way along the B6241 and is approx 2 mile from the M6.
